This is not a mission pack.I made the 3 first ever missions using the mission editor.Download it and see if there is something I need to fix.I bet there is a lot.

Downloaded and some notes:

  • Use a zip program to package up your missions, not rar.
  • For a mission pack, use the format for the archive: EmpireName_packname.zip, for example, yours would be good as "The_Spacing_Guild_ixian_messenger.zip"
  • No spaces in file names.
  • If doing a multi-part mission, filename.mission for the first, filename.part2 for the second, etc...
  • Check for Grammer and spelling errors.  (messenger, not messanger for one)
  • Essentia for rewards is frowned on, and definetely no E-vein.
  • Ships for objectives should for the most part have no stats.
  • Ships for rewards need stats, See http://community.lacunaexpanse.com/wiki/formulas-for-the-curious for a list of base stats for ships.
  • Rewards should wind up being 125%-150% of the investment into the mission.  Glyphs are valued around 100k of resources.

If it's for an objective, only change the stat from zero if there's a story driven reason. "I need a faster than average dory" might have you setting the minimum speed for a dory to give to the mission around 1500.  (depending on university level perhaps)

If it's a reward, you probably want to have better than base stats.  But it depends on the story again.  A live mission currently has a very fast ship with a tiny cargo hold for glyph transfers.

Also,when I saved it,like Ixian_Messenger.mission,and then Ixian_Messenger.part2,

they look identical.Do you really want me to do it like that?It doens't do anything...

can i just number them all?(P/S:I already saved them like this: Ixian_Messenger.mission,Ixian Messenger2.part2 and Ixian Messenger3.part3)

If it's supposed to be a multiparter in on mission doesn't go live before the previous, then they have to be "my_mission.mission", "my_mission.part2", "my_mission.part3"

I have a feeling they look the same because you have extenstions hidden?

Maybe i have to save it and then rename it blalalala.part1 blalalala.part2 instead of saving it like blalalala.part1 and blalalala.part2..saving makes them identical..maybe renaming it is correct like i typed above?

There is a setting on Windows that hides file extensions for known file types.  If you open the folder where you have the mission files and then choose Tools -> Folder Options and then open the View tab.  The seventh checkbox down says "Hide extensions for known file types", uncheck this box and press OK.  Now it should display the file extensions so that you can tell the files apart.

I am talking about the "Tools" in the menu bar at the top of the window.  I have included a snapshot of what it looks like on my system.  Under Tools there is a menu item called "Folder Options".  Once it opens the window select the "View" tab and look down the list of checkboxes to find the one I specified.

I don't think windows 7 starter edition has that tool thingy.

I keep searching for it but i can't find it.

Any good alternatives on how to make it,well, show their parts?

I'm not going to make 10 missions about the Ixians only. There are some other unrelated missions I will make (Because the Ixians name is just getting boring).I have put them down here,2 more missions to go,or more since you will say something about bad mission.

Thank you gratch but now all my missions display as following:

Ixian Messenger.mission.mission

Ixian Messenger.part2.part2

Ixian Messenger.part3.part3

And so on.

The 2 other unrelated missions display as following:

Professor Tlulaxa.mission

Zeorglaxuans.mission

Are these the path you really wanted?

That is because when file extensions were hidden you were entering Messenger.mission as the file name and then it was appending .mission as the file extension.  Now that you have file extensions displayed you should be able to change the name of the files and remove the duplicate .mission, .part2, .part3... It might give you a warning about changing a file extension, just say you are sure you want to change it.

Yes, the last two have the correct file extensions, but mission filenames should not have spaces in them.  The editor will automatically generate a filename for you based on the name of your mission.  Please use this generated filename with the correct file extension instead of entering your own filename.
