Hi folks,

You guys are great to work with!

My job is to try to resolve your problems or get a really good bug report to the programmers.

I usually check the Support Forum every day Monday through Friday and sometimes on the weekend too. I don't necessarily answer questions every day, but I do check.

Here are some tips that will help me resolve your problems faster:

  1. Give me your empire and the planet involved.
    1. Your starmap coordinates don't help me much.
    2. I can't assume that your support forum login is the same as your empire name.
    3. If you'd rather not post that info to the forum, PM me by clicking on mdhoerr_c
  2. When you post something, I'm going to try to reproduce it before submitting the bug report. The more info you give me, the better.
  3. I overlook things sometimes. Go ahead and bump a thread back up if I haven't gotten to it after a couple of days.
  4. If it's something working the way it should, but you wish it worked differently, post it to the Ideas forum. JT will see it sooner there, I guarantee it. And it should be posted by you guys, not me, so he knows you're the ones with the idea.
  5. I normally reference your thread in the bug report. So go ahead and add more examples to a thread after I've submitted the bug.

Thanks everyone!

[no, I'm not a member of any alliance, despite what the stats show. I joined The Star Union alliance for a couple of days to troubleshoot a bug. Then they merged into Purple Tacos Star Union, so that's a bug in the Stats. Which I've reported.]

Some of you have asked how I deal with problems with people who break the rules. Here's a general overview. Depending on the circumstances, I might not take all these steps. However, I have never yet taken a punitive action without first going through steps 1 and 2.

1. I verify that the rule was broken.

2. I communicate with the rule-breaker via PM and / or private chat to make sure they understand what the problem is and give them a chance to correct.

3. If the behavior persists: Solar Flares. This sets all the non-resource buildings on a planet to zero efficiency.

4. If the behavior persists: Meteor Shower. This destroys non-resource buildings on a planet.

5. If the behavior persists: Pestilence. This destroys the colony on a planet.

Other measures I can take are permanent ban from chat and deleting an empire altogether.

I hope this clarifies things.

I've taken over some support duties and will be trying to help people out.

Try to follow the guidelines Mary put in place, and I'll see what I can do.

Amy issue I can't deal with, I'll kick upstairs.

The admin empire is Sweden, feel free to email it with problems that you don't want to have public.

Likewise I have taken on the role as admin and developer for Lacuna Expanse.

I will do my best to help people who have problems, if there is a bug I will try to make sure it is logged and reported and (hopefully) fixed. Although I can't promise a rapid response to all bugs since I am only working a few hours a week on bug-fixing.
