The Algae Cropper produces algae to be used as food by your empire. It also produces a small amount of energy and can be built in any orbit. The higher the level of the cropper the more food and energy it produces.
The Energy Reserve stores your energy with a minimal amount of loss. Increasing the level of the building raises the amount of energy stored. Base storage is 1000 + 4% per science affinity point.
Fission Energy Plant
The Fission Energy Plant produces energy by splitting atoms. This way of producing energy is very efficient on an waste per energy produced ratio. The higher the building level the more energy is produced.
Fusion Energy Plant
The Fusion Energy Plant produces energy by fusing atoms together. This type of energy is even more efficient than the Fission Energy Plant on a waste per energy produced ratio. Requires a high level University to construct. The higher the building level the more energy is produced.
Geo Energy Plant
The Geo Energy Plant produces energy with a minimal amount of waste by using the planets own processes such as wind, waves, solar and geo thermal. The higher the level of the building the more energy is produced.
Hydrocarbon Energy Plant
The Hydrocarbon Energy Plant produces large amounts of energy at the cost of producing large amounts of waste by burning hydrocarbons. Since combustion of hydrocarbons, such as oil, is a basic technique, it actually require much more ore than knowledge. The higher the building level the more energy is produced.
Planetary Command Center
The planetary command center (PCC) houses the central government for your empire. This is your "flag in the ground" that lets everyone know you've staked your claim to a planet. It provides some basic resources and and storage for those resources both of which increase with the level of this building. The planetary command center also provides some critical reports on your planetary activities such as total resource production and total resource storage for the planet it's constructed on. It's one of the most versatile buildings in the game, but it's also very expensive to upgrade.
Singularity Energy Plant
The Singularity Energy Plant produces energy by pulling it from subspace with a black-hole-like structure with very intense and dangerous energy. It is the cleanest and most powerful form of energy in the universe. It is extremely expensive to build and requires a very high level University (15) to construct.
The stockpile is an advanced building that provides storage while allowing you to build your resource buildings higher than level 20 on the planet that contains the stockpile. For every 3 levels of the stockpile, you can build your resource buildings 1 level higher than 20. With a level 30 University, resource buildings can be further upgraded to level 30.
Waste Energy Plant
The Waste Energy Plant produces energy by burning your empire's waste. Producing energy this way is far less efficient than other types of energy production, but the benefit is that waste is reduced. The higher the building level the more energy is produced and waste consumed.
The Waste Exchanger is a combination of a waste recycling center, waste sequestration well, and a waste treatment center. It tears apart waste at a molecular level and recombines it into useful resources.
Waste Recycling Center
The Waste Recycling Center allows you to manually convert batches of waste into energy, ore and water. The more waste you convert, the longer it will take to make the resources you want. The higher the level of the building the more waste can be converted in one process. You can also spend a small amount of Essentia to convert the waste instantly.
Waste Treatment Center
The Waste Treatment Center allows you to convert waste in to ore, water, and energy. The higher the building the more waste can be converted.
