The Mine extracts minerals from your planet in the form of ore. The amounts of each mineral extracted depends on the concentration and composition of the planet. The higher the level of the mine the more ore is extracted. Also, by using an Ore Refinery your mines can have increased production.
The Mining Ministry allows production of mining platform ships at the shipyard. The mining platform ship is deployed to asteroids where you can mine their ore. The ministry also allows management of deployed mining platforms and controls the flow of cargo ships to and from the platforms. You can control one platform per two levels of the mining ministry.
The Mining Platform is deployed on an asteroid to allow mining of ore from it. It starts out as a mining platform ship, which deploys into a mining platform when it reaches an asteroid with available plots. The mining platform is then controlled by the mining ministry of the planet it was launced from. Once deployed a Ming Platform cannot be recalled. It can only be destroyed and a new Minining Ship can be launched to replace it.
The Ore Refinery increases the amount of ore extracted from some terrestrial ore producing structures by purifying the ore. The higher the refinery level the higher the purification process and even greater amounts of ore are extracted from the mine. You get 5% more ore out of everything that produces ore on your planet, per level of the refinery. So if you have 3 mines, and your ore refinery was level 2, you'd get a 10% ore increase out of each of the mines. The refinery does not affect ore output from mining platforms.
Ore Storage Tanks
Ore Storage Tanks store the ore that is pulled from the Mine. The higher the level of the building the more ore can be stored. Base storage is 1000 + 4% per mining affinity point.
Planetary Command Center
The planetary command center (PCC) houses the central government for your empire. This is your "flag in the ground" that lets everyone know you've staked your claim to a planet. It provides some basic resources and and storage for those resources both of which increase with the level of this building. The planetary command center also provides some critical reports on your planetary activities such as total resource production and total resource storage for the planet it's constructed on. It's one of the most versatile buildings in the game, but it's also very expensive to upgrade.
The stockpile is an advanced building that provides storage while allowing you to build your resource buildings higher than level 20 on the planet that contains the stockpile. For every 3 levels of the stockpile, you can build your resource buildings 1 level higher than 20. With a level 30 University, resource buildings can be further upgraded to level 30.
Volcanos naturally form on many planets. As they erupt they bring a steady source of ore from the planet's core up to the surface. The production of a Volcano can be boosted by an Ore Refinery.
The waste digester converts waste into ore. The higher the level, the more waste is processed.
The Waste Exchanger is a combination of a waste recycling center, waste sequestration well, and a waste treatment center. It tears apart waste at a molecular level and recombines it into useful resources.
Waste Recycling Center
The Waste Recycling Center allows you to manually convert batches of waste into energy, ore and water. The more waste you convert, the longer it will take to make the resources you want. The higher the level of the building the more waste can be converted in one process. You can also spend a small amount of Essentia to convert the waste instantly.
Waste Treatment Center
The Waste Treatment Center allows you to convert waste in to ore, water, and energy. The higher the building the more waste can be converted.
