Barge
A barge is a transport ship that is somewhere between a dory and a cargo ship. You can build it after Trade Ministry level 5.
-
Berth
Berth is the required minimum level of a Spaceport required on a planet before a ship of a required Berth size can be sent from the planet.
-
Bleeder
A bleeder is a special kind of assault ship that can be created after munitions lab level 12. If it makes it to the surface of a planet, it deploys into a building. The building then converts the planet's resources into waste. It starts slow, however, it also continually upgrades itself, converting more and more resources into waste.

Detonator
Detonator it set off an electro magnetic pulse (EMP), which destroys all deployed ships in on the affected body. It can be built at the Shipyard after you build a Munitions Lab. Inhabitted planets have so much eletro-magnetic energy pulsing through the atmosphere already that any detonations would just disipate into the amosphere causing no detectable disturbances. It is used to destroy:
-
Dory
A Dory is a small fast version of a Cargo Ship. It can be built at the Shipyard after you build a Trade Ministry.
-
Drone
A Drone is a robotic missile that defends your planet from enemy attacks. You can build Drones at the Shipyard after building a Security Ministry.
-
Fighter
A Fighter is a defensive ship that can be used to knock out incoming attacks. It works very much like a Drone, in that it sits in your SpacePort until it detects an incoming attack, and then it launches and destroys the attacker. However, it's better than a Drone in that it usually is not destroyed in the battle. See ship to ship combat for details.

Fleet Actions
Since there are now hundreds of thousands of ships in TLE, and some planets have thousands of ships, the current system is in-efficient in dealing with all of them and the user interface is slower as a consequence.
-
Freighter
Freighters are a huge variant of a Cargo Ship. They can carry double the cargo of a standard cargo ship, which means you can do more with less.
-
Galleon
The Galleon is a mid-range transport ship somewhere between a cargo ship and a freighter. However, it is exceptionally fast for its size. You can build the galleon after Trade Ministry level 15.
-
Hulk
The Hulk is a super freighter. It's is terribly slow, but it can carry an exceptional amount of cargo. You can build it after Trade Ministry level 25.
-
Observatory Seeker
An Observatory Seeker is a variant of a Snark, except that it will only strike an Observatory. If there is no Observatory available on the target planet, it will turn around and return to base. If the Observatory has been reduced to 0%, it will still hit the wreckage.
-
Placebo
The Placebo is a ship that can be used to do a fake attack. It can make people misdirect their defenses to one location, when in fact you have an attack coming at something else. There are six levels of placebo ships, that can be built between level 5 and 30 of the Cloaking Lab. The different levels provide different speeds that can be used to simulate different types of ships.
-
Scow
A Scow is a robotic waste transport ship. You can use a scow to dispose of waste in a star. If a Scow is used in this manner it is reusable and will return to your planet after disposing of its load. Disposal of waste into a star can be automated by use of a Waste Chain which requires the Trade Ministry to set it up.
-
Security Ministry Seeker
The Security Ministry Seeker is a variant on the Snark that only targets the Security Ministry. If no Security Ministry exists on the target planet, it will turn around and return to base. If the Security Ministry has been reduced to 0%, it will still hit the wreckage.

Ship To Ship Combat
Two ships engage in ship to ship combat when one ship arrives at a planet where defensive ships (drone, fighter, sweeper) are docked.

Short Range Colony Ship
The Short Range Colony Ship is an excellent choice if there is a planet you wish to colonize that is very close to your existing planet. It is 1/3 the cost of a normal Colony Ship. However, part of the savings with this ship went into cheaper engine components. This ship can travel faster than the traditional colony ship but it's engines burn out very quickly. You might only be able to get to another star system with it, or even across your own star system if the planet isn't right next door.
-
SpacePort Seeker
A SpacePort Seeker is a variant on the Snark that specifically targets a SpacePort. If no SpacePort can be found, it will turn around and return to base. If the SpacePort has been reduced to 0%, it will still hit the wreckage.
-
Spy Shuttle
A Spy Shuttle is a larger variant of a Spy Pod. It is a one way craft capable of carrying up to 4 spies. It is fast and stealthy, though not as fast or stealthy as a Spy Pod.
-
Stake
The Stake allows you to stake a claim on a planet for 72 hours. You can send up to 3 stakes in a 24 hour period. Therefore an empire can reserve up to 9 planets at one time using stakes.
-
Supply Pod
The Supply Pod is a ship that lands on the surface of your planet and acts as temporary storage. You can send 1 supply pod per day per planet to any inhabited planet. "Per day" means "per 24 hour period."
-
Surveyor
The surveyor is a reconnaissance ship, much like the scanner. However, in addition to giving you a photograph of the planet's surface, it also gives you a readout of the names and levels of all the buildings on the surface.
-
Sweeper
Sweepers are both offensive and defensive ships. They are a variant of a fighter. The Sweeper has a greater combat rating than the fighter, but lacks the ability to be deployed. Sweepers provide both the best on planet protection and the best elminator of planetary defenses. Sweepers can also be used to clear Mining Platforms off of Asteroids. You can build a sweeper after level 16 of the Munitions Lab.

Thud
A thud is a bombardment ship that temporarily destroys spaces, not plots on the surface of a planet. It does this by creating a smoldering crater in a random empty space on the surface of a planet. Smoldering craters cannot be demolished until they stop smoldering, which can be anywhere from 1 to 7 days.
